HD Maritime specializes in managing, moving, and maintaining yachts for absentee owners. Our team consists of multiple USCG licensed captains with backgrounds in larger private and charter yachts. We can set up a safe, fun, and worry free program for you and your vessel. Our service area spans all of South Florida including Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Naples, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral.

With over 30 years of boatyard experience, HD Maritime can make your yard period effortless. Let us evaluate your work list, gather estimates, offer guidance, and execute your projects. Our on-site management will assure a timely completion so you can get back on the water as soon as possible. We also offer new build management. Our team ensures the proper and prompt delivery of your yacht. We can also assist with pre-purchase surveys and consulting.

Yacht Management and Safety

Safety is the most important aspect of enjoying your yacht. Let our seasoned experts outfit your yacht with proper safety and medical gear suited to your cruising waters. We can provide vessel specific fire and safety plans. We also offer vessel documentation, flag state compliance support and customs assistance. Additionally, our team can arrange fuel bunkering, permanent or transient dockage and provisioning. We provide a US liaison for vessels traveling abroad.

Yacht Deliveries and Transport

HD Maritime offers fully crewed yacht deliveries with USCG licensed captains and qualified crew. We offer relocation services for both power and sailing yachts including ocean crossings. We have experience loading and offloading yachts from bulk carriers. We also have captains available for sea trials and day trips. Our team has cruising experience in the Caribbean, Bahamas, US East Coast, Canadian Maritimes, Erie Canal, Great Lakes, Western Rivers, US West Coast, Pacific NW, South Pacific, New Zealand, Mediterranean, and the Panama Canal. 

Yacht Maintenance

With years of yacht engineering experience, HD Maritime will assemble a custom preventative maintenance schedule tailored to your vessel's mechanical needs. We'll compile a spare parts kit, complete tool kit, and create a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly maintenance manual. We offer mechanical, exterior, and interior monthly maintenance packages with per foot pricing! We can also arrange haul out services for yearly maintenance periods.

Owner Operator 

Get to know your boat! We offer vessel specific orientation to familiarize owner operators with the engine room, electronics, and various systems on board. We offer passage planning, weather forecasting, and customized itineraries so you can enjoy your yacht fully! Our full concierge service can make sure all of your needs are met wherever you plan to travel. We can also assemble a comprehensive hurricane plan specific to your vessel.

Gelcoat Repairs

We offer gelcoat repairs from minor touch ups to major patches. We have a seasoned gelcoat expert on staff that is also a color matching wizard. If you're struggling to hide a blemish on your vessel, give us a call- we'll make it disappear!

The Team

Danielle Harangody

USCG 200/500 Ton Master

Danielle was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. She grew up around the ocean, surfing, snorkeling and boating. She became an ocean lifeguard after high school and worked on local yachts through college. She obtained her USCG 100 Ton license at the age of 22 and ran a fleet of charter yachts based in West Palm Beach. Danielle currently holds a USCG 200 Ton Master License and has been in the industry over 10 years. Her career has taken her all over the US East Coast, Great Lakes, Western Rivers, Bahamas, and the Caribbean. She has completed America's Great Loop multiple times.

Harold Moyer

USCG 500/3000 Ton Master

Harold grew up in Rock Hall, Maryland on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. He took up sailing as a boy and eventually moved to St. Thomas at the age of 22. He started Caribbean Boatworks, a successful fiberglass company, in Yacht Haven Marina in Charlotte Amalie and began racing in regattas all over the Caribbean. Harold got his USCG 100 Ton license in 1998 and began running charter sailing yachts. Today, he holds a USCG 500 Ton Master Oceans license and has over 20 years of experience in the yachting industry. His career has taken him across the Atlantic 4 times and across the Pacific twice.

Jim Harangody

USCG 500/3000 Ton Master

Hailing from the outskirts of Chicago, Capt. Jim found his love for the water around Lake Michigan. He obtained his first captains license over 40 years ago. Since then, his career has taken him all over North America, Great Lakes, Bahamas, and Caribbean. He has done the Great Loop numerous times. Capt. Jim is mechanically inclined and has worked most of his life in the construction industry as a general contractor. He is our go-to captain for deliveries with owners onboard and he is always more than happy to share his knowledge. Capt. Jim is head of our public relations and new client outreach. If you walk the docks of any South Florida or Bahamas marina with him, you'll realize that he has never met a stranger!

Phil Lacca

USCG 500/3000 Ton Master

Phil is originally from Detroit but moved to Baltimore as a young adult. He spent many years in the Caribbean and his yachting career has been aboard both sailing and power yachts. He has done multiple solo Atlantic crossings on his own boat in his spare time.

Matt Vaughn

Chef

Chef Matthew, a Florida native, was raised sailing, surfing, diving and fishing on the waters of the Gulf Coast. He holds a degree in culinary arts from the Florida Culinary Institute. After relocating to Hawaii in search of the perfect wave, it was on the island of Maui where Matthew was trained by the great chef’s of Pacific Rim cooking.

Later he discovered private yachts and has been traveling and taking in the world’s culinary wonders that he shares in his eclectic culinary style.
